AI: Anthropic has conducted a survey. In this survey, it has been found out how and why people want to use AI. Also, what concerns do they have about the future of AI? 81 thousand people from 159 countries participated in the survey. This showed that people use AI for professional work and to enhance their abilities. Also, they use AI to handle routine tasks so that they get more time to focus on important tasks.

However, concerns still remain among people about trusting AI and its impact on jobs. Interestingly, only 5.6 percent of people reported using AI for “creative expression.” Because of this it became the lowest priority task.

Talking about concerns, 26.7 percent people cited lack of trust in AI as their biggest concern. After this, 22.3 percent people expressed their concerns about jobs and economy and 21.9 percent people expressed their concerns about issues related to freedom and control.

Additionally, many are concerned about cognitive decline, governance challenges, misinformation, surveillance and privacy risks, misuse, and the impact on life’s purpose and creativity. “Too many restrictions” was at the bottom of the list of concerns.
People in India, Brazil and Israel showed mostly positive thinking about AI. At the same time, people of France, Japan and America gave mixed opinions. Whereas people in Germany, South Korea and the United Kingdom were generally more skeptical about AI.
