It has been wrapped up in the struggle for the throne of Zulu which has been in dispute for a long time.

This is the opinion of Advocate Mpumelelo Zikalala of Zikalala Attorneys when he spoke toIt’s the weekend regarding the decision of the Constitutional Court to overturn the side opposing the installation of the King of the Zulu, Misuzulu ka Zwelithini.

The struggle for the throne of Zulu started after King Goodwill Zwelithini asked Bhekuzulu in 2021.

Those who opposed the appointment of Zwelithini’s Silo Misuzulu included Ntwana Mbonisi, Vulindlela and Mathuba. They complained that the King’s appointment was not in line with tradition and questioned the validity of the will.

It turned out that they were supporting Prince Simakade or Buzabazi to be one of them who entered the throne.

They continued to complain to the court even though there were decisions in favor of anointing the King.

Prince Ntandoyenkosi and Ntombizosuthu filed a lawsuit saying that the will of the King who bowed down to Zwelithini of Bhekuzulu was forged and they said they did not believe in it.

The Children of the King of KwaKhethomthanyou continued and asked that the chiefs of the army not interfere in matters of family conflict.

Prince Mbonisi and other members of the Royal Family want the Constitutional Court to change its decision in favor of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s decision to approve the appointment of Silo.

The Constitutional Court rejected the application by Mntwana Mbonisi and others to challenge the decision of the Court of Appeal, which was in Ramaphosa’s favor in February. When this decision came out, many thought that those who opposed the appointment of the King had reached a dead end as the Constitutional Court is the last one.

Two months ago Prince Mbonisi said that a lot of things would go wrong if they were not allowed to make presentations.

“Here we are talking about an important issue that affects a great nation. People saw the High Court in Pretoria overturning Ramaphosa’s decision to accept the appointment of Silo, and they also saw the Court of Appeals in favor of Ramaphosa. Now people want to see the end,” said Prince Mbonisi.

Zikalala said that this side has now come to a dead end as it is clear that there is nothing they can do now in order to move this case forward.

”There is nothing they can do now after this decision has been issued. It is very unlikely that there is another step forward that they can take,” he says.

This side continued to oppose the appointment of Silo even though there was a big ceremony for his coronation which was held at Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban.

It also accused the politicians saying that they are the ones who put a monkey’s foot in the fight for the throne of Zulu.

The side that supports Prince Simakade has never expressed much anger in protesting after the first decision of the Constitutional Court unless they made it clear that they themselves were supporting him.

Attempts to get a comment from Mntwana Mbonisi failed because his phone was switched off yesterday.
