Sam Altman On AI: Sam Altman said in a recent interview that the companies he knows are adopting AI as much as they are hiring people. This raises a question whether the companies doing layoffs in the name of AI are really firing a large number of people because of this.

In an interview with CNBC, Sam Altman said that the companies I know that have adopted AI the most are the ones that are also hiring the most people. He also said that the companies that are blaming AI for mass layoffs are often the companies that are not making the biggest investments in the technology.
I understood better
Till some time ago it was being said that AI would replace humans, but now this seems to be changing. Instead of eliminating the need for workers, AI is probably making them more productive. Altman believes his own understanding has improved after seeing businesses use OpenAI’s coding tools, including Codex. He also said that I think I had underestimated how crooked these models would be.
