GOALKEEPER who won the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) with Bafana Bafana in 1996, Roger De Sa, was once again bitten by a bird on the hand when he got a job that will bring him back to the World Cup as it happened in 2022, in Qatar.

De Sa, who played and coached in South Africa’s top division, will be on Ghana’s bench in the World Cup that will begin in June in Mexico, Canada and the United States of America (USA) following his appointment as assistant coach.

Ghana, tied in Group L with Panama, Croatia and England, unexpectedly sacked Otto Addo, the coach who brought him to the promised land, his place was filled by Carlos Queiroz from Portugal.

Queiroz who once coached Bafana used to work with De Sa with whom he has a good relationship since they worked as the head and vice-captain of the Iran national team during the World Cup in Qatar.

Even in the 2019 Afcon, these coaches who have ties to the country of Mozambique have worked as the head and vice president of the Egyptian national team.

At the time It is a country It concerns De Sa about getting a job, he was happy until he revealed that he had already signed it a week ago.

“I feel honored by this opportunity because Ghana is one of the countries that produces players who are doing wonders in the leagues that are considered as hundreds in world football,” said De Sa.

“I can’t wait as I signed last week but I don’t know what I’m doing if I don’t thank Queiroz who always remembers me when opportunities like this arise.

“This is my opportunity to grow as a coach at the same time as another (opportunity) to return Ghana to its rightful place in world football,” said the coach who has worked for Orlando Pirates, Bidvest Wits and Cape Town Spurs.
