THE plans of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) may be affected following news that Marumo Gallants have been taken to court because they failed to comply with some of the agreements signed when they bought Moroka Swallows in June 2024.

It turns out that within a few days Swallows has terminated the sale agreement with Gallants if this group of Abram Sello does not immediately pay what it owes.

Since this issue is in court, anything can happen since if (the court) favors Zinyoni, it will mean that Gallants no longer have the right to play in the big division of South African football.

It is said that Swallows are not in a position to return to the big league but it is reported that this Soweto team will be looking for someone else to buy the right to play in the PSL.

According to the agreements, it is said that Gallants paid R20 million which was supposed to be the total amount, and then R10 million which was to cover tax costs.

Another R10 million was to cover all costs related to the contracts of players and workers.

It is said that Swallows have never received anything other than R20 million, which is the total amount, which is why they are trying to terminate their agreement with Gallants.

It is for this reason, it appears that Swallows has told the Gallants’ lawyers that if they do not pay within the days they have set, they will hear from the court calling them.

When Gallants bought Swallows they moved to Bloemfontein. The group released a statement yesterday admitting that they have received the court documents related to their transaction with Swallows.

“Gallants respects the South African courts, so they will not say anything to the media as this matter is on the court’s table. What we can assure the fans is that everything is ready and the players are looking forward to the next game,” was part of the Gallants statement.

The problem that may arise will be faced by the PSL which organized the league matches without knowing that such problems will arise in the middle of the season.

It is not known what will happen if Swallows wins the case in court.

The problem of the PSL will start if the Swallows do not find those who are willing to buy the team lying in the 14th place in the log as there are 12 games left to wrap up the season.
