A masked SINGER who has never failed in this role, Umafikizolo, has promised to continue to entertain his music fans and those who are treated by songs with a message of love.

Umafikizolo says so while talking toOf this country after winning the Song of The Year award at the Metro FM Music Awards, held at the ICC, Durban, on Saturday night, which was the first time that it was won by a masked singer.

Accepting the award, he won it with his hit song last year saying You are begging your motherUmafikizolo said that he hopes that this award will help him find a woman who will make him happy.

When asked what he meant by this, he said: “There is nothing I can say or confirm at the moment about my love situation, I only promise that if there is a feeling I feel about love, I will show it with my beautiful song.”

Meanwhile, another maskandi singer who is not a fan of fans, Khuzani “Indlamlenze” Mpungose, also made history by winning the Best Maskandi award, which was the first time this year that this category has been awarded.

Speaking after being awarded this award, Khuzani said that winning this award would open up opportunities for artists in this field, especially because they have been locked away for the past few years.

“We have been fighting many times as maskandi artists for maskandi to be respected at the highest level, so to reach the stage I am in now, I hope it will open doors for other artists and good things will happen and put our music on the map,” he said.
