HE REMEMBERS all the difficulties and challenges rapper Stogie T went through, when he was awarded the Best Hip Hop award at the Metro FM Awards, for his song Four Horsemenfeaturing Nasty C, Areece and Maggz.

Presenting his speech to accept the award at the ICC, Durban, on Saturday night, Stogie T started by shedding tears for about 30 seconds on stage – the whole arena was explained, people were waiting for him to speak.

When he opened his mouth, he said that what he has achieved now through his music after more than 20 years in music, is proof that God does not forget his people, especially those who do good things and have a positive impact on society.

“I am very grateful to all the artists who worked on my song Four Horsemenwhich is what I got this award for – which clearly clarifies that my contributions are visible in music over more than 20 years of my existence,” he said.

Continuing, he said the thing that brought him to tears when he accepted the award – is that he has been in this role of music for a long time but this time there is very little to show that people and the authorities see the work he is doing.

“This encourages me to continue to work hard with my music work that God has blessed me with. I hope it will encourage artists who come after me to be diligent and always stand in difficult situations to get what they want,” said Stogie T.

Stogie T is originally from Tanzania, and became popular in music based in South Africa. His birth name is Tumi Molekane and he started to shine in the music scene as part of the now disbanded hip hop group Tumi and The Volume.

Except for this song Four Horsemen on Stogie T’s last year’s album, Anomy and his other albums Return of The King (2015), i-Stogie T (2016), i-Honey and Pain (2018), ne-The Empire of Sheep it-2020.
