ISOLO Misuzulu Sinqobile of Zwelithini, appealed for unity in the family of the king of Sokhulu, in Richards Bay, who had tried to prevent his coronation.

The coronation of King Buzatiphi Mthiyane almost failed after a family member, Mr. Nkosinathi Mthiyane, filed a request to stop the coronation of the king. However, the inauguration ceremony continued over the weekend, after the High Court in Pietermaritzburg rejected Mthiyane’s request.

Silo urged the family to accept the court’s decision, and promised to support the king.

“I want us to respect each other. Since the King is sitting on the throne, we will hold him together.”

Silo said that the weather showed that the coronation ceremony was a success.

“And heaven blesses us. We often see that the sun is not there when the king is anointed.”

Mbube said that it is not the first time that there has been a struggle for sovereignty.

“I also come from this. It’s not a new thing because not everyone is happy when a king is anointed. It just happens a lot, there is gossiping and the family ends up no longer together. We are where we are now, it was not easy but with the kings who lead me, in cooperation with the provincial government and the house of kings, we have been able to reach this stage.”

The King said: “The installation of the king is not easy. There are stages to it. The fall of the shield, the washing of the seat, the pouring of water. The meeting of the family finally makes us come out with one name.”

The Prime Minister of KwaZulu-Natal, Mr. Thami Ntuli, complained about the government official who wrote to the king who was being anointed, telling him that he did not deserve to sit on the throne.

“I saw here in the court papers that there is a government official who wrote to the king telling him that he does not deserve to sit on the throne because there is an acting king. I will look into this matter closely with my council because it is serious.”

Ntuli urged the family to sit down and discuss.

“If there is anything left, we say sit down as a family because the courts have never been an arbitrator in family problems. Learn from the Elder who said that even if there is a big fight, he said that no blood should be shed. Remember that you are the children of one man.”

The Prime Minister of Zulu, Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi, said the court’s decision was historic.

“What I am asking is that the court’s decision be preserved as history. Judge Marion said that only the King can do that work, no one can stop it. This is history.” said Buthelezi.
