THE ORGANIZATION that oversees soccer in Africa, Caf, has issued a shocking decision regarding the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Morocco, stripping Senegal of the title and giving it to Morocco.

Senegal won the final in Rabat, Morocco, on January 18, defeating Morocco 1-0 with a goal scored by Pape Gueye in extra time.

However, that happened after the chaos that was created when the referee gave Morocco a penalty towards the end of the second half.

The Senegalese players left the field and went to the changing rooms because they did not agree with this decision.

The former captain that day, Sadio Mane, remained on the field and went out to plead with his teammates to return, which eventually happened.

The penalty shot by the Moroccan striker, Brahim Diaz, was blocked by the Senegal goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy.

On January 28, Caf issued strong sanctions issued by its disciplinary board against both teams it accused of breaking different rules.

Morocco filed an appeal against these decisions as the decision review board came out with new ones on Tuesday.

According to the statement issued by this organization, this board found that Senegal boycotted the game, which means that it is considered that Morocco won it 3-0.

This decision has been criticized by many people on social media, including French football stars, Patrice Evra, Samir Nasri, and others.

The governing body for football in Senegal has promised to refer the matter to the Swiss-based Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
