One of Kaizer Chiefs’ coaches, Cedric Kaze, was happy to see his team beat Magesi FC 2-0 in the Betway Premiership match on Saturday.

Amakhosi came to this match at Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban, aiming to collect three points again following their 1-0 win over Durban City last weekend.

The first goal was scored by Wandile Duba at the end of the first half, the second was blocked by Mfundo Vilakazi, who came from the bench, six minutes before the end of the game.

“We are happy with the three points, and because we scored two goals and conceded no goals. We have seen a lot of good things,” said Kaze, who trains the team together with Khalil Ben Youssef.

“I would like to thank the Durban fans who always come out in large numbers to give us a good boost.

“We could have controlled the game better in the first half, scored more goals. We created chances but we were in a hurry when we had to make the last pass or kick the goal.

“I’m happy, but because we didn’t panic when we were leading by one goal, we continued to organize well. I don’t believe that the opponents had many chances. We deserved the three points.”

With this result Amakhosi climbed to fourth place on the log with 36 points in 20 games.

They are one point behind MaZulu FC who are in third place with 37 points from 22 games.

Usuthu also returned with full points on Saturday defeating Polokwane City 1-0 at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane.

Saturday’s Betway Premiership results: Polokwane City 0-1 AmaZulu FC, Stellenbosch FC 2-1 Chippa United, Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 Magesi FC
