Two suspected armed criminals were shot and killed during a shootout with police in Sydenham on Thursday afternoon.
Police witnessed a robbery on Burnwood Road where three suspects, who were driving a white Kia sedan, robbed a man of his belongings.
The suspects got up and saw that there were police officers, they beat them and drove away. When the suspects fled, their car collided with a taxi and they left it. They fled on foot, shooting at the police, and there was a shootout. Two suspects were shot and seriously injured, one was arrested.
He will face charges of armed robbery and attempted murder of the police. No police officer was injured during the shootout.
