BREAST feeding your baby is a natural and unadulterated thing, but it doesn’t happen easily to some mothers, especially those who are starting to give birth because they want support especially if they have just given birth to a new born baby.

This is why Affinity Health, a private health center, has witnessed the annual campaign called World Breastfeeding Week (August 1 to 7), which is carried out around the world at this time to encourage mothers to breastfeed their children.

According to the world health organization, the World Health Organization (WHO), children need to breastfeed a lot, especially in the first six months after birth, and continue in this way along with food suitable for the baby until they reach the age of two and a little more than that. Breast milk helps the baby to grow well, to have energy and strength, and to grow well in the body as well.

Why is breastfeeding difficult?

The main problem that breastfeeding mothers often have is that they are often disappointed when they feel that breastfeeding is more difficult than they expected, and that the pressure of what people say on social media makes it seem that breastfeeding is something shameful and should not happen.

Breast pain, fatigue, lack of adequate sleep and hormonal changes are some of the things that affect the confidence of a parent who breastfeeds a child. Some children are not quick to get used to breastfeeding, but that does not mean that they have done something wrong. The period when a woman has just given birth is often difficult, and many die in between.

What are some challenges to breastfeeding?

One of the common challenges is that it is possible for the child not to get used to the breast milk quickly, which can be caused by the fact that sometimes it does not stick well to the breast when breastfeeding, which causes the nipple to hurt, and which can cause the breast to bleed, and also causes the child to not get enough and appropriate milk. In some cases, it is possible that the breasts become swollen due to the release of a lot of milk. It also happens that the milk is blocked from coming out, causing pain in the breasts, which requires the child to breastfeed and squeeze it so that it comes out properly and properly.

Signs that your baby is breastfeeding well:

  • It’s always a wet bottom and dirty diapers.
  • Rapid growth and weight gain.
  • The sound of swallowing when a baby is breastfeeding indicates happiness.
  • Ease and sleep of the child after breastfeeding.
  • Breast tenderness after breastfeeding.

Here are some tips that can help breastfeeding mothers:

  • Hold your baby close to you and attach so that he can breastfeed properly.
  • Vary the way you hold her and hold her to you when you breastfeed until you find one that she is most happy with.
  • Get used to holding your baby so that he gets used to being close to you.
  • Drink enough water and eat nutritious and healthy food.
  • Give yourself enough time to rest because breastfeeding is tiring.
  • Get medical help if your breast condition does not relieve you.
