NIKELE took to the street to protest to express their anger on Wednesday, the community of Gingindlovu, who are complaining about the manager of the police station in this area, who is said to be managing in an unsatisfactory manner.

The country has seen a list of public complaints, among which there are allegations that the station manager allows a policeman who is his partner to use a police car to take and pick up children from school.

There are also suspicions of the loss of marijuana valued at R400 000 which was seized by the police, inside the station. The manager is smelly.

The country spoke to another person who was part of the march but who asked that his name be withheld for fear of safety, he revealed that the community is definitely not happy with the station manager who appears to have been there for three years.

He said that among the things they are unhappy about is the operation of one van when they know that there are other vans at the station.

“One day we watched something unpleasant, a rape victim and a suspect were sitting together in the back of a van. When we asked the police how something like this happened, they said the police station manager told them not to sit together, isn’t that a problem?” said the source.

He went on to say that they were also surprised by the response received by the king of the nation when he went to seek help at the station, he felt unsafe.

“He just told him that if he felt unsafe, he should hire security guards,” he said.

He said that they are also finding out from the police who work at this station that they have an iron fist, and that they are not able to do their job properly.

“What we want is for him to be changed, to be moved to another place, while we bring another station manager, who will not harm the public and his colleagues,” said the source.

The Nation contacted a police officer closely monitoring the matter, who also asked not to be identified, and confirmed what the public said.

“The station manages us as if it were running a local store. If you are a police officer and you want to be in his good books, you must do what he says, no matter how much it is against the law,” said the police officer.

It said that the station has been in charge for three full years, and he is in charge of the fourth as he arrived in 2022 to manage the station.

“Although the time is short, the police do not want to talk about it anymore. Since they arrived, 10 police officers have left. Of those who left, they asked to be transferred to other stations, one was dismissed, and the other resigned in December due to harassment,” said the police officer.

The petition was received by the station manager of the neighboring station, who promised to forward it to the appropriate department.
