THE children’s mother, who is said to have killed their father and her new lover in France, Pietermaritzburg, will be sentenced to death in prison on Tuesday.

In this incident that has left the community stunned, Mr. Mzokhona Shezi (35) from Tailors, in Mgungundlocu, and Ms. Yoliswa Ngubane from Bulwer were brutally killed.

Shezi was buried at home yesterday, while Ms Ngubane was buried on Saturday.

It is a country talking to Shezi’s sister, Ms. Nokulunga Shezi, said that it had been a year since her brother broke up with the suspect he had already approached and asked her for.

“They broke up after the mother of the children chose between us as a family, telling her to choose who is important in her life. My brother chose us, and then they broke up,” said Ms. Shezi.

He said that he reported this to his brother, and then they handed over the suspect to them, to try to get their property repaired but to no avail.

“When we got there to talk to the elders, it was not good because he didn’t get into our case, he refused even when he was called to come sit down and talk, he said where we stepped on him, so we can fix it. He came later, and he clarified that he doesn’t get into ours,” said Ms. Shezi.

He said that his brother eventually got on with his life, and made fun of Ms. Ngubane.

He revealed that their relationship had gone a long way since he was going to appear to them in September, this year.

“We suspect that he heard that he was going to appear at MaNgubane’s house, so he chose to attack them,” he said.

He said that on the day of the incident, the suspect first sent Shezi a message, saying that he would burn the house down.

“It was late at night when he sent the message because my brother called me at around 7.30, saying that he had just been contacted by the children’s mother, he was talking like this. I advised him to go and report the incident to the police and the incident would happen after a few hours of sleep,” said Ms. Shezi.

He said the suspect had intended to kill them because even though they were leaving the burning house injured, they said they were running away, they found him waiting for them outside the house, and he doused them with another petrol, burning them to death.

Describing him, he said that he was a cruel person as he used to tell them in his eyes that he hated them, and even when he laughed they could see that he was laughing.

“It’s sad what he did to us. As he is going to apply for bail on Friday, we hope he doesn’t get it, rot in prison,” he said.

He said they accused his colleagues of the deceased at work for spreading the news that his brother would go to dowry.

“The sister of the children’s mother worked in the same company, so the colleagues of the deceased, they know each other and the mother of the children. They showed this by calling each other in front of Ma Ngubane and taking the side of the mother of the children, by not talking to Ma Ngubane,” Ms. Shezi explained.

He said that the children of Shezi and the accused are girls, he said that the eldest is 14 years old and the youngest is 10 years old.
