Three suspects were shot and seriously injured in a shootout with the police in Mariannhill this morning.
The police collected an intelligence report on the whereabouts of the suspects who were wanted for kidnapping and fraud in Greenwood Park, as well as possession of illegal firearms.
The police saw the suspects driving on Milky Way Road and tried to stop their car. The driver is said to have rammed the car against the police order and a chase ensued.
The police chased the suspects and suddenly a gunshot was fired. The suspect’s car overturned and hit a tree. Three suspects were shot dead during the shootout, no police officer was injured.
The suspects were found with two guns and many bullets.
