THE ORGANIZERS of the Ugu Jazz Festival, say that everything is ready and they are looking forward to welcoming the different guests who will come to the event.

They said this at a press conference on Monday night, in Scottburgh.

This event, which will be held from June 25 to 27, will be held at the stadium Ugu Sports & Leisure Centre, ePort Shepstone.

Siya Msomi of the Coolsounds Trading company, which is organizing the event, said that she would encourage people to continue buying tickets as they are still available and she does not want to see people regretting it.

He said that on their side, everything is in order from the sponsors and the programs they have with all the events that will last three days.

“We called this press conference because we felt it was important to continue to tell people that the event is coming very well and that all the plans are ready. We would like to thank all the sponsors of the event as it has returned this year, and it is clear that people still need it because of the enthusiasm they have shown. We are happy with the way things have come together, we ask the fans of this event not to suspect you as you have taken a break. Since you are back, it will be the same as before,” said Siya.

The Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Mntomuhle Khawula, said that they are grateful that this event is back as it was a big one and it ensured that it will not end again.

“I told Siya that this is an event that should not end in the eyes of the people, I told him a long time ago that it started. I am happy that he is back now and we have no doubt that he will continue to attract people’s attention. Through this we are looking to make a profit and advertise us in other provinces if the people who come to them come to be happy and then go to talk about it,” said Khawula.

The Mayor of Ugu Municipality, Sikhumbuzo Mqadi, said that the concerns regarding sleeping places, the traffic that occurs when there is this event and the good condition of the city have been fixed by all the agencies involved.

On the first day, it is expected that there will be a gala dinner which will be accompanied by a comedy event in which he will performMondli Ngcobo and Zawadi Yamungu, and comedians including Simphiwe Shembe, Simunye Churchboy, Mondli Mzizi and Nonto R.

It will follow i-Offramp Experience, under which there is an event The Worship Experience, which will be held on June 26, where the artists who will perform include Nontokozo Mkhize, Mpumi Mtsweni, Sgwili, Mthokozisi Nkosi, Nkanyiso, Shongwe and Khuphuka, Jumbo, Malusi Mbokazi and pastors.

Don Laka, Siphokazi, Ernie Smith, Naledi Aphiwe, Mnqobi Yazo, Mawelele, Danya, Bongani Nkwanyana, Olefied Khetha, DJ 101, DJ Muntu Jikeleza, Fanie Dick, Tender Mavundla and DJ Mshedi will perform at the jazz event.

Tickets for this event are available at Spar, Pick n Pay, Boxer and Ticketpro from R200 and R250.
