There was a commotion outside the grounds of Sherwood Hall, Durban, on Monday morning when a crowd of Malawians saw activist against illegal immigration Ngizwe Mchunu arrive.
People who were carrying sticks could be heard shouting for him to leave. They say they have no problem leaving South Africa, but Mchunu’s arrival upsets them.
Even the intervention of the police helped to control the angry crowd and monitor any violence.
“This guy has to go, we don’t want to see his face here. He has to go back,” shouted one from Malawi.
“He said let’s leave this country, we are leaving, what do you want here now? He shouldn’t come here, these people are angry and will beat him… he will die here,” added the man.
