STRUGGLING you fight to have a bright future by educating yourself with the knowledge of education, depending on your family and relatives to support you makes finding your first job an indescribable joy.

It is normal that young people who are in that situation want to be overly happy, want to do and fix many things at the same time because you can see that things and your life are changing.

However, Momentum Financial Planning’s financial advisor, Ms. Anri Armer, has warned that being in a hurry because of that situation can make you make decisions that could have a negative financial impact.

“Allowing that feeling and that situation to control you can have a negative impact financially as it can lead you into the trap of forgetting the important things you should be doing. Sometimes you end up focusing too much on the past and the urgent, and you end up in a situation where you live by waiting for the next salary,” said Ms. Armer.

He said it is important for young people to change the way they look at their income, especially those who are about to start working because that is where many things go wrong.

“Building the economy is not something that happens only because you are old, but it is a journey that you have to start when you are young and start working, so that you can build up to 30 to 40 years old and then have a solid foundation,” he said.

Ms. Armer advised that one of the things that helps is to teach yourself to live on less than what you earn every month, and always make sure that for every salary you receive, there is a part of the money you save – don’t spend it even accidentally.

Here are some tips to help you avoid backlogs:

  • Don’t increase the things that will make you spend money: When you get your first salary or your salary is increased at work, make sure that you don’t change the way you live for at least three to six months. Save money that you won’t use to avoid wasting it on things you don’t need.
  • Have an emergency fund: Before you even take on the challenge of investing your big money, start small by setting aside money that you have designed to help you in critical and emergency situations. That helps you if you happen to be in a situation where you need money quickly, so you don’t have to go into debt.
  • Protect your income: Make sure that you use your income properly and wisely to avoid wasting your money carelessly because you don’t have a specific and clear plan of how you will use it.

“If you see that you are having trouble doing this yourself, it can help you to find a financial advisor who will advise you in a simple and stress-free way to put and use your money properly,” advises Ms. Armer.
