THE people in ward 6, Dundee, who were left homeless after their homes were demolished by a farmer yesterday, are crying silently and talking about the graves of their relatives.

They said that suddenly an Afrikaner who had just bought a farm raided, asked about their health, and just entered their homes and demolished them with bulldozers. Yesterday they said they don’t even know where they will sleep. They said that they did not get a chance to remove the belongings from the houses.
They said that when they asked the Afrikaner what was going on, he replied that he does not need anyone in this area now and wants to expand his pasture and reserve.
The warriors told It is a country that their heads are thundering with this action which they say is more than that. One of them, Mr. Lukhotsho Mujalifa, said they don’t know what to do if things turn out like this.
He revealed that he and his family came to this place in 1983. At that time, he said his parents were working for the farmer who was managing the farm at the time.
He said when he left the farmer sold it to another but the one who came told them not to worry, no one will have the right to remove them from this place.
“The big problem is that what the Afrikaner just said verbally without any documents he gave us. I think the big problem started there because no one paid attention to that,” he said.
Continuing, he said that the Afrikaner who came in after the owner of the farm didn’t bother them, she just continued to live with them and they worked on the farm without any problem.
He pointed out that in general, people working on this farm used to live there. But later on, those who do not work in it are the ones who end up coming down from it.
Three months ago, he said, the farm was bought by another Afrikaner who simply told them with their eyes that their time is over now, they should get out of this place.
He said that even though he was explaining, he stiffened his head and it seemed that he didn’t want to hear anything at all.
“She is not kidding, she said that the people who were there when the farm started should live in this area, not the children of those people. She said that she has not spoken to the children of those people. This thing really confuses us, we don’t know what we will do if this is the case,” he said.
Mrs. Fikile Khumalo, another resident, stated that she and her family came to this place in 1993. He also explained the same thing, saying that it was their parents who had been living in this area and working on the farm for the farmer who freed them to stay in the area “forever”.
“We are confused now after such a long time, if someone is going to come and kick us out just like that without explaining to us exactly what is going on, what is the problem. We have faced grief and it is difficult. We do not know where we will sleep if this is the case,” he explained.
Continuing, he said that they see everything but the graves of their families who will be left homeless if they go to this place, he said that this is not easy and they should just prevent it from happening.
“After all, we arrived here a long time ago, which means that we all bury ourselves here in case of a flu,” he explained.
The IFP councilor from this ward, Mr. Xolani Msezane, said they were also frustrated by the farmer’s actions.
