Suspected gang leader Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala will not appear before the Madlanga Commission on Tuesday.
This happened despite the fact that the commission issued a letter compelling him to appear. Evidence leaders asked that his appearance be adjourned until the next day.
“Due to the increased media and public interest in the testimony of Mr. Vusimuzi Matlala, the Commission wishes to advise that although Mr. Matlala has been summoned to appear before it on Tuesday, 7 July 2026, the leaders of the evidence will request that his testimony be postponed to a date to be determined. “Therefore, Mr. Matlala will not appear in person before the Commission on Tuesday but his legal representative will be present,” said the spokesperson for the Madlanga Commission.
