ONE of the leaders of the church called Nqabeni Church thanked for being honored for the work he has done for the church of God as well as the community as a whole.

That is Prophet Benedict Sabelo Xaba who was honored by the National Congregational School of Theology which turns out to be working with the California Enrichment Institute.

The event was held in Doornfontein, Johannesburg, where he is based. This leader was honored with a doctorate in the field of Religion and Spirituality.

”I am very happy to be honored in this way. What pleases me the most is being honored while I’m still alive. I am grateful to everyone I have worked with in the past, especially the leader of the Nazarenes on the Buhleni side, King Unyazillezulu,” he says.

This leader is well known for the role he designs in helping poor families. He is also known for his gift of healing while under the Nazarene church still led by King Thingolwenkosazana. He revealed that he started serving in the Nazarene church at the Sandanezwe temple, in Doornfontein.

”Unyazia then asked me to build a house for her in Johannesburg. In cooperation with the Sandanezwe church, I then looked for land and bought the De Deur farm and built a house called Thembalethu and now Unyazi comes to it if it gives,” he explained about his relationship with this church known as Shembe.

In 2017 he said he decided to open his own church in Nqabeni. He revealed that even though he still preaches in his own church, he still goes to Buhleni and is welcomed with open arms.

He did not want to reveal what led him to leave the Shembe church.

He stated that he will continue with his ambitious plans which include assisting needy students who wish to pursue their studies in higher education institutions but are short of money.

Although he is based in Johannesburg, he said that he has many programs that he often does in KwaZulu-Natal, especially in Durban.

The institution that respected him gave him a big round of applause for his contribution to helping needy families during the outbreak of Covid-19..

Xaba is originally from Mondlo, Vryheid, Mvuzini ward, Nswalakahla.
