Two suspects have been arrested in a campaign involving various law enforcement agencies following reports of a plot to kill a senior official of the Department of Human Settlements, in Alberton.

It is said that the problems of this female victim started in 2024 after she stopped corrupt practices at work. We said we received threats from people suspected of being bullies who were following him to the point that shots were fired at his home.

The first suspect was arrested in Dundonald, Mpumalanga, and licensed firearms and ammunition were seized for legal analysis. The second suspect, who is a secretary and works with a manager at the Department of Human Settlements in Alberton, was arrested at work. Investigators also seized firearms, ammunition, laptops and cell phones as part of the ongoing investigation.
