After the strong storm, which hit several areas in the Mngeni municipality, the mayor Christopher Pappas went out with the disaster team to assess the damage.

The first report of this municipality reveals that major damage has occurred in houses that are roofed with asbestos, many areas also report broken windows.

“The municipality is in the process of finding the right equipment to help the affected residents and will provide assistance where it is most needed, said the municipality in a statement.
