The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) rescued the Nzimande brothers in Sikhalambazo, Mandeni, Ward 15, who were living in a house that was in an unsightly condition because it had not been completed, had no windows and no doors.

Here we are talking about Ms. Lindelwa Nzimande (50) who is in a wheelchair and her brother Mr. Mbubileseni Nzimande (48) who is walking with crutches.

After the person who is a member of the national wing of the IFP and who ran to lead this group in Mandeni, Mr. Lonhle Gumede, heard about this, he stood up and finished the house, bought windows and doors and left groceries.

Gumede visited the village accompanied by other IFP members. He said it is always a priority for Nkatha to ensure that people living with disabilities are taken care of.

”When I heard about this, I thought it was better not to ignore this matter but to get up and contribute. I am a person who strongly believes that they must be loved and cared for in every way, especially those living with disabilities,” he explained.

He said he wished that they would benefit from other people living with disabilities in different parts of KwaZulu-Natal as well as South Africa in general.

”This is a challenge for anyone to do whatever they can to help people living with disabilities. It doesn’t matter how small it is, as long as someone helps them,” he explained.

He promised that they will continue to contribute as long as there are people who need to be helped, especially those who live with addiction.

Mrs. Nzimande thanked the leaders for remembering them. He said he did not expect that there are people who would come forward and do something to finish the construction of his house with his brother.

”Thank you very much. I have no words to thank you. This is a terrible thing that has happened in this home. I was thinking that I am at a loss for words and I don’t know what we can do to finish the house we live in,” he explained.

He said it was like he was dreaming when he saw people arriving with windows and doors and everything needed to finish the house.

His brother echoed his sister’s words and said they felt very happy to receive such important help.

”Thank you very much for this good thing. It makes us happy as people living with disabilities to see that there are people who love us and are willing to help us in different ways,” he explained.
