ALTHOUGH Bhinca President Ngizwe Mchunu has apologized to the EFF leader, Mr. Julius Malema, for making statements that damage his reputation, the battle is not over as the court will now listen to the evidence that will be presented orally in this dispute.

In the latest case in the Gauteng High Court, Pretoria, Malema now wants Mchunu to be sentenced to six months in prison directly for contempt of court.

Between May 12 and June 18, Malema appeared in court urgently four different times with the aim of stopping Mchunu accusing him of defaming his name.

Mchunu finally apologized for tarnishing Malema’s name and for defying the court by disobeying its previous order, by continuing to insult and drag down Malema’s name.

Mchunu had previously spoken about Malema and said that he gets money from Nigerian businessmen who are gangsters who trade in drugs. He also said that Malema receives money from corrupt foreign businessmen and linked him to the corruption that brought down the VBS Mutual bank. He didn’t stop there, he called him a dog and said he was a political Satan and like a dead snake.

Apologizing to Mchunu, he admitted that Xamu missed the hole and accepted the power of the court to punish him. The issue did not end there as Malema returned to court after Mchunu insulted him again while talking to the SABC.

Malema said that Mchunu has struck again by talking about him in an interview with the SABC.

The court said that it finds it difficult to arbitrate the dispute based on the documents filed by the parties involved. It wants witnesses to elaborate.

Malema believes that since Mchunu once again spoke about him and insulted him, he is disrespecting the court itself.

Mchunu went on to say that his apology does not mean that he has changed his views, and he also made statements that hurt Malema’s reputation.

The court gave both sides until August 3 to reveal the details of the witnesses they will call, after which Malema can return the case to the list of cases to be heard.

On the other hand, Mchunu also filed a counterclaim related to an incident that allegedly took place in January 2024, where Malema was accused of insulting him. This counterclaim has not yet been included in the list of issues to be heard in court.
