HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATIONS and labor unions have condemned the competition for the position of the minister who left the government followed by a dark cloud, Mrs. Dina Pule.

Human rights organizations and trade unions said that Mrs Pule’s appointment as Minister of Social Development clearly shows that the government is not willing to fight corruption.

Mrs Pule was officially sworn in yesterday following her appointment by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Mrs Pule left the government under a dark cloud when she was the Minister of Communications in 2013. He was found guilty of misleading Parliament.

The position he was appointed to was held by Mrs. Sisisi Tolashe, who also left behind the smell.

The Confederation of Trade Unions, Cosatu, said it was concerned about Mrs Pule’s appointment.

“We are worried about the appointment of the Minister of Social Development as he left the government behind a dark cloud. Leaders who cannot be followed by the smell should be appointed to the positions. The appointment of leaders who are followed by the smell makes people distrust the government.”

The Ahmed Khathrada Foundation said that the appointment of Mrs. Pule will endanger millions of poor people who depend on the department given to her.

“To appoint a person who has broken his oath to lead the department responsible for grants that are the hope of many people, is like insulting poor people.”

The ANC has praised the changes made by Ramaphosa.

Acting spokesperson for the ANC, Ms Nonceba Mhlauli, said they trust Mrs Pule. Ramaphosa also announced other changes.

The ax is crying out loud in the DA leadership as five changes have been made.

The former leader of the DA, Mr. John Steenhuisen, was organized by the methods.

Steenhuisen was removed from the position of Minister of Agriculture, and was replaced by the position of Deputy Minister of Trade.

Mr. Willem Aucump, who was the Minister of Forestry, was appointed in his place.

Mr. David Maynier, who was a minister in the Western Cape government, was appointed instead of Aucump.

Ms. Alexandra Abrahams was appointed as Deputy Minister of Electricity, Mr. Jack Bloom was appointed as Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation, and Mr. Yusuf Cassim was appointed as Deputy Minister of Higher Education.

These changes were made after the appointment of a new DA leadership.

The newly appointed leader of the DA, Mr. Geordin Hill-Lewis, said that they have made these changes to show that they have come to water down the scandals in the government.

“The government led by the DA works in a different way. I appointed these leaders because I want them to show that the DA does things in a different way.”
