THE body of a four-year-old girl who had been missing in Kwa Ndengezi was found near a tuckshop.
The Nation learned that Esona Mabaso went missing on Saturday afternoon and was found the next afternoon behind a small shop not far from her home.
It turns out that his body had signs of being raped before he was killed.
This was confirmed by his uncle, Mr. Sihle Mabaso, when he spoke to Solezwe yesterday about this matter.
He said what happened to them is very bad for them as a family and they ask themselves who is this cruel person.
“Our child was found lying dead behind the tuckshop. He had been missing on Saturday afternoon. We would be lying if we said we know what happened. We are all very confused about what happened to us,” he said.
He said they tried to look for it on Saturday but it was not found.
Although they are confused, he said they want to find answers about what happened, and who did such a cruel thing.
“It’s sad what happened here at home,” he said emphatically.
He said that they have left everything in the hands of the police to be the ones to decide how to deal with this matter.
He said they hope to get justice and punish the wrongdoers in the future.
When he spoke to Solezwe, he said the child’s mother is not there and has gone to the police. A neighboring community member who asked not to be named said they were all shocked after the child was found out cold.

“The child was seen by someone who was passing behind the tuckshop. We do not know of such a thing that someone would have the courage to kill such a small child and even rape him,” he said.
