AFTER receiving another setback in consecutive games, the coach of Kaizer Chiefs, Cedric Kaze, admitted that the team is facing a difficult situation that needs to be calmed down in order to find a solution.

Kaze, who trains in collaboration with Khalil Ben Youseff, said this after Chiefs were beaten 1-0 by Richards Bay FC in the Betway Premiership match at Mhlathuze Sports Complex, Richards Bay, on Tuesday.

The Bay sold some blows to the Chiefs who were beaten in four consecutive games in different competitions. Before Bay, Chiefs were beaten 3-0 by Orlando Pirates at home in Soweto, last weekend.

“We are facing a difficult time. Sometimes when the team is faced with situations like this, that is when we need to calm down and find a solution. If we start panicking now, things will go terribly wrong. We need to calm down,” said Kaze.

Changing the scheme of the Chiefs before the start of the game when the defender, Inacio Miguel, was injured, the team is still warming up for the start of the game, it is clear that the plans of the coaching staff have gone wrong.

Miguel was replaced by Bradley Cross and Aden McCarthy at center back, who had not played together before.

“Miguel’s injury while we were warming up for the start of the game, having Zitha (Kwinika) suspended due to cards, forced us to change our entire back wall, which we didn’t plan for, and I think that also contributed to us not doing well,” said Kaze.

Amakhosi last won on February 2, defeating Al Masry of Egypt, in the group stage of the Caf Confederation Cup. After that they were beaten 2-1 by Zamalek from Caf, followed by a 2-1 defeat by Stellenbosch FC in the Premiership, Pirates, as they got another one from Rich Boyz on Tuesday.

Although this team is not out of the Top 8, but its loss of points in this way reduces its chances of finishing in this place.

In addition, there is also pressure on Kaze and Youseff who are already at odds with the fans of this group who want to be shown the way.

Amakhosi will return to the field with a home game against Durban City on February 15, at FNB Stadium, Nasrec.
