Polokwane City (0)

Mamelodi Sundowns (0) 1

MAMELODI Sundowns returned to the top of the Betway Premiership log beating Polokwane City 1-0 at Seshego Stadium, Polokwane, on Wednesday night.

The goal that ensured that Sundowns returned with all three points in Polokwane was scored by Marcelo Allende in the second half.

The victory of Sundowns against Polokwane means a return to their winning streak as they had lost points in the last two matches against Stellenbosch FC 1-1 and Richards Bay FC 0-0 separately.

The Sandawanas topped the Premiership log with 61 points, followed by Orlando Pirates in 59th place.

They will play Rise and Shine again on Sunday in the second round at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, Pretoria.

Since the Sandawana and Zimnyama are tied with 26 games, this means that the remaining four games between these teams will determine who will take the title even though the Sandawana have opened a gap of two points.
