Hollywoodbets Sharks fullback Vusi Moyo will make his official senior rugby debut against Wales on Saturday.

This game, which will be the third game of the Springboks in the Nations Championship, will start at 5.40 pm at Hollywoodbets Kings Park Stadium, Durban.

The local team has 10 points in two games after defeating England 45-21 and Scotland 42-28.

Moyo, who wore the Springboks jersey in the match against the Barbarians a few weeks ago, is one of the four players who are expected to make their debut for the national team on Saturday.

Others are defender Jaco Williams who also plays for the Sharks, and forwards Ruben van Heerden and Carlu Sadie.

Moyo (20), who plays at flyhalf, played a major role when the Junior Bokke won the World Rugby Under-20 Championship title in Italy last year.

He will partner veteran scrumhalf, Cobus Reinach and other experienced defenders Kurt-Lee Arendse, Aphelele Fassi, Damian de Allende and Jesse Kriel.

“We told the players at the beginning of the season that if everything goes well, we will give them the opportunity to play in this tournament. We are looking forward to seeing what these new players, and those who have only played a few games, will do in this game,” said the coach of Bobokhoko, Rassie Erasmus.

“The squad has brought together new and experienced players because we are not fooling ourselves about the danger of Wales. We have seen them fight in the Six Nations against Scotland and Ireland, they were able to defeat Italy. In the Nations Championship they have defeated Fiji and they fought in the recent game against Argentina. We believe that they will come very determined.”

“We have faith in our players and we believe that the older ones will help them to compete on the field, to show the skills they have put into the national team. We hope that it will be a game that they will enjoy, as well as our fans.”
