IMOTO: AUDI S3
WHEN Audi developed the A3 family, the S3 was not left out of the process.
The S3 fits in between the A3 and the RS 3’s legendary 5 cylinder engine.
From the outside it looks and the changes are similar to those made in their A3.
In fact, if you’re not paying attention, it comes from the front and you can tell it’s an A3 if you don’t know cars well because there’s nothing to show. It’s not like the RS 3 which is different.
The front has LED daytime running lights that you can change to how you want them to shine.
And LED headlights. They made the Singleframe grille wider and opened the air intakes at the bottom.
It looks good with a little modesty, it doesn’t show that it hides much under the bonnet.
The beauty is added by the 19 inch rims and when you turn to the back you will see that it is not a standard A3 because it has four Akrapovic wheels, which you can add if you want.
The good thing is that it comes with a lot more than adding money, such as 19 inch rims peeking out from the red brake calipers, panoramic sunroof and Matrix LED headlights.
Inside it comes with leather seats at no extra cost as well as Sonos speakers but I don’t feel good, I like Bang & Olufsen.
Inside, I like that the infotainment screen and buttons face the driver.
On this screen you can connect your mobile phone via Apple CarPlay wirelessly, play the radio, organize the car and so on and we will stand out.
They changed the gear and made it smaller to make it easier if you want to connect a mobile phone via USB or to put drinks because the hand goes without being blocked anywhere.
It also has ambient lighting that changes the way it lights up at night.
Where it’s most fun is when you put it on the road.
Its 2.0l turbo petrol engine has increased power to 245kW and 420Nm torque. Earlier they were 213kW and 400Nm torque.
The power is greater than that of the rival BMW M135 xDrive which spits out 233kW and 400Nm of torque.
This makes it go from 0 to 100km/h in 4.7 seconds and the top speed is 250km/h.
I have no doubt that Audi is right about these numbers because you can feel it when you step on it and the speed increases quickly.
If you like the sound of bass, forget it because you’re not big when you’re young. The good thing is that it is not the fake one that is heard on the speakers because even if you are outside, you can hear a little.
I’ve turned corners while it’s been raining and I felt it grip because it’s pulling with all the wheels.
As it is, it worked a lot better with the torque splitter in the rear that was available on the RS 3. It puts power to the opposite wheel and when you turn to turn in close and get out of the turn like a bullet.
It went back to consuming 11.6l/100km because I changed the drive mode to Dynamic where it was spitting out all its power.
I also liked the brakes.
Since VW does not have a VW Golf 8.5R, one of its main competitors is the BMW M135 xDrive which costs less than it.
