KAIZER Chiefs may kill two birds with one stone by signing Tanzanian winger, Adolf Mtasingwa Bitegeko, which is a decision that will be like releasing Lebohang Moboe from the shackles that he had to change the way he plays since he arrived last year, in this Naturena club.

Amakhosi strengthened their squad by signing Mtasingwa (27) from Azam FC who was their captain.

The Chiefs did not disclose the details of Mtasingwa’s contract but did not mention the experience that comes with this player who has played six seasons in Iceland, Norway, Finland and the Tanzanian national team.

Apart from the fact that the Chiefs have found a player whose skills are being questioned and who is also a leader, his arrival seems to relieve Maboe.

Before signing for Chiefs, Maboe who once played for Mamelodi Sundowns and Maritzburg United, was attacking, scoring goals and creating with his teammates. He was also played on the horns.

His mental growth in football forced him to change the way he played after he arrived at Chiefs who needed him to coordinate the defenders and attackers at that time.

This was giving him the strength to push Maboe forward, but now that Mtasingwa has arrived, he is said to be playing the area he was running in an admirable way, and goals can start to be expected from him.

Cedric Kaze, who coached Chiefs last season and is now at Sekhukhune United, described Mtasingwa as a player who will stand out in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) if he avoids injury.

“Apart from the fact that he is humble even though he is one of the best players in Tanzania, he has a rare ability to slow down or speed up the game as he likes,” said Kaze to Metro FC.

“The Chiefs have found a player who will help them in many ways as long as he avoids the injuries that have plagued him in the past seasons,” said the coach.

It is said that Mtasingwa is “chilling on the ball”, looking for spaces without rushing.

Those who know him better as Kaze describe him as a player who does not want the enemy to have the ball in most of his team but he is also the one who starts the attack when it is won.

Mtasingwa may make his first appearance for the Chiefs on Sunday at 3 pm in the Toyota Cup game when they face Scotland FC from Zimbabwe, at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace, Rustenburg.
