The funeral service of actor Seputla Sebogodi, will be held at Jack Botes Hall in Polokwane on Saturday morning.

The 63-year-old actor passed away on Wednesday, July 15, due to complications from diabetes.

Although he was born in Atteridgeville in the west of Pretoria, Sebogodi comes from Ga-Mothapo in the east of Polokwane. According to reports, Sebogodi’s family intends to bury the famous actor at his home in Ga-Mothapo, but there is an obstacle – his wife.

Sebogodi’s wife, Machuene Rosina Semenya, reportedly wants her husband of six months to be buried at Silicon Cemetery in Polokwane rather than Ga-Mothapo.

Reports also reveal that the family says Semenya still has a few months to marry into this family as they got married in February 2026, so she has no right to decide where she will be buried as she has never visited the actor’s home.

The elder sister of the deceased, Mary (67), left Nandi’s house after hearing the news that Semenya intends to bury the famous actress in the Silicon cemetery, stating that she wants to place her away from the home where her ancestors lie.

As the controversy continues, a memorial service for the actor will be held at the South African State Theater in Pretoria on July 23, while another will be held at Jack Botes Hall in Polokwane on Friday, with the funeral held at the same venue on Saturday.
