He has chosen to throw away the medical degree awarded to actor Sello Maake KaNcube by a private institution, which caused a lot of noise.

Sello Maake issued a statement under his non-profit organization about the decision.

As soon as he made this announcement, there was a lot of noise and pictures of him being given these titles were spread.

He and other celebrities, including businessman Shauwn Mkhize, became a laughing stock when they revealed the news of respect for institutions like these, and it turns out that they do not have the power to grant degrees to celebrities, politicians, celebrities and people who make a profit in society.

In the statement he released, Sello stated that he rejects the award of these degrees and that he will no longer accept being called a doctor.

He said that he will not use the degree he obtained from the institution known as Trinity International Bible University, which is not legally registered.

“This decision was taken after years of uproar in the community due to the news of their release. Maake ka Ncube accepted these degrees with grace and believed that they were given to him because they believed in him. He had no idea whether this institution was registered or not and whether everything we do is legal. All this has happened but his name continued to be associated with the activities of this institution,” said the statement.

They said they believe that Maake ka Ncube as a famous person, it was easy for him to receive this criticism he received from the public and it was reported about him a lot on social media.

“He found himself exposed to public shame and his reputation was degraded to such an extent that he could not even defend himself when this happened. This actor has been trying to build his name for many years and is respected in many places in the arts, in artists’ institutions, on television and in other places. It is disappointing that something that should have been celebrating his work caused him pain and his reputation,” explained this statement.

The former Minister of Higher Education two years ago Blade Nzimande criticized what happened and said that unregistered institutions must stop issuing degrees to celebrities.
