AS the month of June continues, also known as Men’s Health Awareness Month, private health company, Viatris, has warned men not to ignore the problem of erectile dysfunction. This problem is often called erectile dysfunction.
Viatris said that although many discussions about diseases affecting men tend to focus on heart disease, diabetes and male prostate cancer, it is important to pay attention to conditions related to sex.
What men can do is to be careful to keep checking if everything is going well, not waiting for them to get sick and not to get up.
The big question is what is erectile dysfunction?
This is a condition of insufficient strength of the male penis. We tend to trouble many men, and it turns out that the problem is more than just a problem related to sex. Medical research has shown that ED can be a sign of other underlying diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity and cognitive impairment.
Dr. Shingai Mutambirwa of Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University said: “Many people often think that this condition is nothing to worry about, when the truth is that it can be the first symptoms that indicate that you are being suspected of serious diseases. That is why it is important that you act quickly, do not take it lightly because it is dangerous.”
A recent study carried out by health officials highlighted that this condition affects the men of South Africa, which was proven by a study conducted in different clinics in Durban – which revealed that 64.9% of the men tested were found to have this problem, most of them are elderly and have chronic diseases such as diabetes and BP.
The head of Viatris South African, Mr. Aman Khanna, said that the good thing about this situation is that its appearance helps the person who has it to quickly see or find out if there are any hidden diseases, which helps him to be able to move forward.
“That is why we encourage people who experience this situation not to die because of the fear of embarrassment but to take action immediately to look and find out what is causing it so that it will be easy to stop the damage as soon as possible,” said Khanna.
The scope of this problem is proven by the statistics of the health research which revealed that this disease affects 30% to 60% of people over 40 years of age around the world.
It turns out that although this problem is caused more by the passing of years, those with chronic diseases are the ones who are at the greatest risk of having this condition of a stick that refuses to smoke.
Health research predicts that diabetes patients in Africa are 71% more likely to have erectile dysfunction.
