Shebeshxt has appointed Adv Laurence Hodes, who previously represented Julius Malema and is known for handling high-profile cases, to take over his case.
The Lekompo singer, Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, popularly known as Shebeshxt, appeared in court with the intention of reviewing the previous bail decision but that was revoked at the Limpopo High Court, Polokwane.
This comes after Chauke appointed a senior lawyer, Advocate Laurence Hodes SC, to handle the matter. The court was informed that the newly appointed counsel needs more time to study the case documents before proceeding with the bail matter.
Chauke, 31, has been in custody since November 2025 and is facing many charges, including attempted murder. He was previously denied bail by the Polokwane District Court in April and went to the High Court to challenge that decision.
He is expected to return to the Polokwane District Court on July 10 for a pre-trial hearing
