The Athletic South Africa (ASA) Senior Track and Field National Championships will be held at the Coetzenburg Stadium, Stellenbosch, from Thursday to Saturday.

In this annual national competition, runners will compete in different distances including 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 5000m, 4x400m relay, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Discus and Javelin.

The competition will start at 8 am on Thursday with the men’s 10km race.

Those who will represent KwaZulu-Natal Athletics will be watching Prudence Sekgodiso in the women’s 800m and 1500m races, and Tshepo Tshite in the men’s 1500m.

Sekgodiso won the 800m last year with 1:58.80, and also came out on top in the 1500m ngo-4:11.34.

Last year Tshite won the 800m with1:46.84, the 1500m title was taken by Luan Munnik in 3:40.38

In the men’s 100m, the runners including Benjamin Richardson, Bradley Nkoana, Wayde van Niekerk and Gift Leotlela who won the race last year in this distance last year with a time of 9.99.

In the men’s 400m, familiar athletes including Lythe Pillay, Udeme Okon, Leendert Koekemoer and others will meet.
