Roads and places that will be disrupted by the marches in Johannesburg

Roads and places that will be disrupted by the marches in Johannesburg

Based on the information received, the following areas have been identified as areas where marches will take place during the protests and related disturbances on June 30:

• Park Station • Bree Taxi Rank • Irenki yamatekisi iMTN • I-Hillbrow • Jeppe • Cleveland • E-Yeoville • I-Orange Grove • Braamfontein • I-Sandton CBD • EThembisa • U-Alexandra • Daveyton • Soweto

The following roads have been identified in Tshwane. Protesters will gather at Church Square in Pretoria Central at 10:00 and proceed to Sunnyside Police Station. There will be a drop-off area for buses only on WF Nkomo Street and Bosman Street, at the beginning of Church Square. After that, the buses are expected to proceed to the Old Putco Depot where they will park, in Marabastad. Private vehicles will be parked in the open area at the corner of Kgosi Mampuru Street and Madiba Street.

No cars will be allowed in the meeting place (Church Square).

The march route and affected streets are as follows: From Church Square, the protesters will join Paul Kruger Street and turn left into Francis Baard Street, left into Lillian Ngoyi Street, right into Madiba Street, right into Nelson Mandela Drive, left into Kotze Street, left into Van Boeschoten Avenue, right into Robert Sobukwe Street, walk along Leyds Street and continue until they reach their destination.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes such as: Nana Sita Street Visagie Street Justice Mahomed Street Jeff Masemola Street Bosman Street Johannes Ramokhoase Street Struben Street Bloed Street Kgosi Mampuru Street Eskia Mphahlele Drive They are expected to disperse at Sunnyside Police Station at 15:00.

The Tshwane Metropolitan Police Department and SAPS officers will be deployed to monitor the march and all affected roads.
