PRESIDENT Cyril Ramaphosa looks set to seek a court injunction to stop the continuation of the Parliamentary committee’s plan following the Constitutional Court’s decision on the Phala Phala issue.

Sources in the ANC reveal that Ramaphosa has decided to stop the committee program and his party is supporting him in that.

Sources said that Ramaphosa is planning to urgently file documents in court, with the aim of preventing the establishment of a committee that will sit on the plan to remove him from office because of the Phala Phala issue.

This follows the fact that the Speaker of Parliament, Mrs Thoko Didiza, announced that a 31-member committee will be established.

It is planned that all parties will nominate their names to represent them in this committee on Friday.

The Speaker’s move is because the Constitutional Court has stopped it on the topic that Parliament broke the law by rejecting the report that says Ramaphosa should answer for the way he handled the theft of US dollars from his Phala Phala farm.

Voted in December 2022, the ANC used its majority in Parliament to reject the report compiled by a team led by retired Chief Justice Sandile Ngcobo.

Parliament is now trying to correct that mistake by establishing a committee to discuss Ramaphosa’s removal from office.

Sources in the ANC say that Ramaphosa definitely wants to challenge the establishment of the committee and his organization stands with him in that

Last week, Ramaphosa announced that he will not resign and will challenge the report of Ngcobo’s team because it has “flaws”.
