The LEADER of the organization against illegal immigrants, Mrs. Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma asked why the government is not using the R600 million that is said to be used to monitor security on June 30, to move the Malawians from Durban to Durban.
He said this when he held a press conference in Johannesburg, to talk about different points on the issue of immigrants, who are in the country illegally.
He said they are worried that no one wants to ask how the tragedy happened so that there are large numbers of Malawian immigrants in Durban.
“With this R600 million, why can’t the transportation of these people to Malawi be expedited,” said Jacinta.
He said he was surprised by the warnings that if there is anything wrong that happens on this day, they will be accused of being the organizers of the protests. He said it is impossible that there can be a speech like this directed at them.
“If the government is going to be able to spend R600 million, it should work for it, show us that it will be able to protect the country. We can’t come and complain about leaking borders every day and the government fails to protect us,” said Jacinta.
He asked that if the government says it will blame them if there is any damage that will happen on June 30, who will take responsibility for the children who have become homeless because of drugs, people being trafficked and so on?
“If there is someone who wants to start pointing some fingers at others, he should first look at those who are the cause of the problem we are currently facing with illegal immigrants,” said Jacinta.
He emphasized that they have been singing the song that they will be marching on the streets of the country on this day.
Responding to the fact that government agencies, including President Cyril Ramaphosa, say the June 30 deadline is illegal, Jacinta said she wanted to make it clear that although she came up with Phakel’umthakathi Ndabandaba, but most of the citizens of the country showed their support and preached the same gospel.
“June 30 is the day that was said to encourage those from other countries, who are in this country illegally, to leave and return to their countries. This came as our government is always complaining that it is a big expense to transport them,” said Jacinta.
He said he was surprised that the government highlighted the fact that it is illegal to tell people who are in the country illegally, to go to their countries.
“What is illegal about that? Because this is the day that was announced to encourage them to go to their countries,” he said.
He said it is surprising that everyone is starting to get nervous now that this day was announced in April.
He said they support this day because they are close to the communities that are most affected by this issue.
He said what they will do on June 30 is to hold protests as usual in different places. He said the marches will be legal as the organizations they work with have applied legally. He said they are yet to announce exactly where the marches will be held.
He said the issue of complaining about immigrants who are in the country illegally, has been a complaint for years.
He dismissed the claim that they had sponsors who supported him with some money, and said that it is worrying that it is thought that a black person can stand up and stand for something because he has been paid.
“Has anyone ever asked us for bank statements, so that they can see for themselves that these are nonsense? We are given money by people. Tell us, give us the statements today, and see for yourself,” said Jacinta.
He dismissed the idea that they only fight black-skinned illegal immigrants. He said that this is strange because most of the shops in the townships are run by Bangladeshis. He also said that in the case of the spazas, they were seen struggling with this.
Referring to organizations that accuse them of fighting illegal immigrants, he said this is an opportunity for them to stop giving them food, but pay for the buses to take them to their countries.
