Jean “Panjaro” Kruger successfully defended his title at the Red Bull Shay’iMoto competition held at Suncoast Casino, Durban, on Saturday night.

This competition was coming back to Durban for the second year in a row as it was held for the first time last year.

This is where Panjaro, who lives in Mahikeng, took the title from Boksie from Cape Town.

Drivers are given two and a half minutes to hit bumps, jump in gaps, and do other stunts with the car.

Others get out of the car while it is moving and then get back in and continue driving.

Panjaro attracted the audience by hanging from the open bonnet of the car and hitting the fat. Everything they do must satisfy the judges and the voting audience.

On Friday night, the competition started with 16 drivers, then it went to the finals on Saturday, with eight remaining.

The four who got the most points were given the chance to choose who they wanted to compete with.

Then there are Panjaro, Magesh Junior, Team VQ25, King Tyler, Bubu who was the only one who represented KwaZulu-Natal, King Kruger who is Panjaro’s brother, Team 2xSpicy JZ and Bemors.

The program was hosted by Hope Mbhele and a veteran in the game, Vic Pardal.

With two wins in a row, Panjaro followed in the footsteps of Sam Sam who was a judge for the first time this time.

Sam Sam won in 2021 and 2022.

Panjaro said without words: “Thank you very much for supporting me, I will see you next year.”
