It looks like JVW FC will continue to upset Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies in the Safa Hollywoodbets Super League as they are showing good form in the five matches played in the 2026 season.

Although JVW drew 2-2 with the University of Fort Hare on Saturday, at the Mpumalanga Stadium, Hammarsdale, they are still leading the Super Rise log as they sit at the top with 13 points.

With its draw against the University of Fort Hare, it was the first to drop points in the five games it had played since it had won four.

This team coached by Janine van Wyk who is its manager in collaboration with Lauren Duncan, is the same Sundowns Ladies who do not know a stick this season.

The Blue Diamonds, which has roped in experienced players, including Mpumi “Mbuzi” Nyandeni, Nomathemba “Lanka” Ntsibande, Gabrielo Salgado and Kaylin Swart, finished second in the Hollywoodbets Super League log last season. The league title was won by Bantwana Ba Style who have dominated this league for many seasons.

However, this season, the league has been divided into two streams, Super Era and Super Rise, with the aim of avoiding costs and better marketing the games in this category. In addition, it is played in a festival format where teams use the same stadium for the whole weekend.

Sundowns Ladies, coached by Godfrey “God Father” Sapula, continued to show that they are still dominant in this division, returning with full points. It continued to open a gap at the top of the log in the Super Era stream by beating TS Galaxy Queens 2-0 on Sunday, at Mpumalanga Stadium.

This team from Pretoria, which has not lost a single point in five games, is still ahead of the log with 15 points. It opened a gap of five points between itself and Galaxy Queens in second place with 10.

Meanwhile: The KwaZulu-Natal team, Ezemvelo Women’s FC, which started the 2026 season with bata, lost points by being defeated by TUT FC 3-0 on Saturday, at the Mpumalanga Stadium. Ezemvelo has won one game, lost four of the five games it has played, sitting in seventh place on the Super Rise log with three points.
