The main PRODUCER ofGenerations The LegacyMfundi Vundla, has played with the family of the late actor Menzi “Ngamla” Ngubane by hurting them by talking about him when he is no longer in the world.

Speaking to 94.7 broadcaster, Thando Thabethe, Mfundi said he fired 16 actors from the show in 2014 because of what was done by Menzi who passed away in March 2021.

“Then during the recording of the episode, Thato (Molamu) entered the recording area. This boy is an actor. He entered while the recording was being made and whispered something to Menzi. Menzi threw everything down and then went outside.”

Mfundi said that he ordered tiki cigarettes for the actors, saying that they would not return for four days, but they would obey his order, which is what led them to show them the way.

“I told them you are leaving. You are leaving. You have four days. I set a deadline for them to return to work. ‘If you do not return to work, it is over.’ They didn’t come back. It was a lot of fun,” Mfundi said.

Contacted by Solezwe on the weekend, Menzi’s brother, Mr. Bonny Ngubane, said Mfundi’s speech hurt them because he lies and badmouthed Menzi when Menzi is no longer there to comment. He urged the Student not to speak on the radio again because he is old. “He shouldn’t stay at home and play with the children because we will end up revealing his scandals about how he treated them,” concluded Ngubane who is a respected businessman in the country.

One of the actors who are fired from theGenerations The eldest, Zolisa Xaluva, said Mfundi milks her own milk through Menzi and Thato.

“Thato didn’t whisper anything to Menzi. Menzi was far away from where Thato was. No one spoke to Menzi and told him to ‘stop filming’. That just didn’t happen,” said Xaluva who played the role of Jason.

And Zikhona Sodlaka, agreed with Zolisa. “This thing looks like a scripted play. You just hear that it’s a well-scripted conversation. You go in, you whisper, and the sound you use in a horror movie is played,” said Zikhona who was Prisca.

Zikhona and Xaluva said they did not want to be paid for the replay because they had already won that fight. Zolisa said there was an agreement that part of the profit they would get from advertisements or if the game is sold to an international channel or if there is money made. These actors said they first hire a lawyer before making decisions. Mfundi said the actors wanted royalties, which were to be paid by the SABC, not him.

“The royalties are paid by the channel that broadcasts the game. I am not the owner of the game. It is owned by the channel. So the payment of the royalties rests with the channel.” Mfundi revealed that the actors wanted those who fought for their war and his dream of having a soap opera broadcast on television was ruined. He said that the reason he fired 16 actors was that his play would be fired.

Zolisa said that they even took this fight to the ANCYL and Mr. Jacob Zuma in Nkandla, who is the president of the country and the ANC, but they only succeeded in one thing, the improvement of working conditions.
