More than 20 SAPS athletes under the age of 35 are among the athletes.
Their participation shows the strength and commitment of the new generation of police officers who are dedicated to building a safe South Africa.
93 runners came from Gauteng SAPS, including 20 budding runners joining the Comrades Marathon for the first time.
In an event held at the Durban police headquarters, senior SAPS officials presented messages of support, encouragement, and motivation to members to embrace the theme of this year’s Comrades Marathon, “Ska Fela Moya” – Never Lose Spirit”.
All SAPS runners are reminded to stay committed to running in line with their Extra Mile for Safer Communities campaign.
