ANC Secretary General Mr. Fikile Mbalula has lashed out at the leader of the MKP party, Mr. Jacob Zuma, for launching a campaign to get people who have left the country to leave and he also associated them with the March and March anti-immigrant movement.

Mbalula said it is disappointing that Zuma is one of the people who are speaking another language about immigrants because he has lost votes.

“The issue of borders is difficult, and Zuma as a gray matter and the president incites violence against immigrants. He even says that he is the leader of the country but he incites violence. Who wants violence? There are many ways to get votes. Why does he want people to fight with people from other countries, where will this end? We must all look to the government to fix this issue,” Mbalula said at a press conference in Johannesburg, following a meeting of the committee in charge of the day-to-day operations of this organization.

He praised Silo Misuzulu of Zwelithini, with a clear message that people from other countries should not be beaten.

“The armed forces must not be used for wrong purposes because they are important people in the communities. We respect the armed forces and we appreciate the role played by Silo in preaching the gospel of peace on the issue of immigrants,” said Mbalula.

Mbalula said that from Monday they will start a program of questioning those who want to be mayors after the local government elections. He said about 5,000 people applied to be mayors in the country.

“We will throw questions to about 150 people who are running for mayor. This program starts on Monday and those who will be questioned will come in person. We will not use technology when we do this program,” he said.

He said some of the mayors in the municipalities will be part of the questioning.

“We are looking for experienced people who will lead the municipalities in this country. We will ask them what they will do for the people if they are elected as mayors. We do not want people who do not know what they are doing but we want people who will improve the country,” said Mbalula who said that this program has not yet started as there are those who are spraying something that is not there.

Mbalula said a lot of work has been done by the security agencies to combat the problem of people who have escaped.

“More than 40,000 foreigners have been arrested by the police. More than 100,000 have been returned to their countries. More than 5,000 Malawians have been returned to their country who were kept in Durban.”

He said they will present the election manifesto in August this year.

He pointed out that if the executive body of the organization would urge President Cyril Ramaphosa to step down on the issue affecting Phala Phala, he would step down without a word.

“He will not refuse or ask what he has done if the ANC executive committee urges Ramaphosa to step down. Mbeki (Thabo), was persuaded to step down and did not keep fighting, when he had done nothing. When Zuma wanted to remove him, he asked what he had done?”

He said that the MEC in the office of the president, Mrs. Sindisiwe Chikunga, must take action if the chairman of the NYDA, Dr. Sunshine Myende, tarnished the name of the organization by silencing a newspaper reporter from the weekend, not to publish the story and not to communicate with him.
