The National Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Fannie Masemola, also pressed the suspended Minister of Police, Mr. Senzo Mchunu, when he appeared before the Parliamentary committee.

Masemola made allegations that Mchunu ordered the disbanding of the police team investigating the murder of politicians in KwaZulu-Natal because he wanted to block the investigation of the police who were investigating a businessman facing a series of crimes, Mr. Vusumuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala.

Masemola said that the people who cooperated with Chunu in the attempts to stop Matlala’s investigation were the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Lieutenant General Shadrack Sibiya, and Mr. Brown Mogotsi.

“If you look closely at the recorded conversations, it shows that Sibiya, Matlala and Mogotsi wanted the team to be disbanded. Mchunu’s name also appears in these conversations. The thing that makes it seem like they wanted to interfere with the investigation of the police who were investigating the cases in Gauteng is that Sibiya wrote a letter in which he said that all the case files investigated by the police team investigating the killing of the KwaZulu-Natal policemen should be brought. from Gauteng. He also wrote a letter where he said he was looking for booths,” said Masemola.

Masemola said he still maintained that Mchunu interfered by issuing an order to disband the team.

Masemola said that Mchunu suddenly started talking about the disbanding of the team.

“He didn’t tell me anything before he gave the order to disband the team. He just came up with a final order,” he said.

Masemola said President Cyril Ramaphosa was shocked when he told him about the disbandment of the delegation.

Masemola also denied the allegations of corruption against him.

He said it is nonsense that he has six houses. He said he has two houses and two apartments.

“My daughters live in the apartments. I am not the one who pays for all the houses, my wife pays for the others.”

Today the committee will cook in a small pot the KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.

Mkhwanazi is expected to respond to the allegations against him, including allegations of torturing the suspect.

Yesterday, Masemola revealed that Mkhwanazi’s contract will be renewed.

Mkhwanazi’s contract will expire soon.

Masemola said that there are still a few things they need to fix regarding Mkhwanazi’s contract.

Earlier this year, the Prime Minister of KwaZulu-Natal, Mr. Thami Ntuli, suggested that Mkhwanazi’s contract be renewed.
