South African singer Makhadzi has called for unity among Africans after reports emerged that some Zimbabwean event organizers want South African singers to be banned from performing in Zimbabwe.
This comes after the intensification of campaigns urging illegal immigrants to return home, which has affected the people of Ghana, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Nigeria.
Makhadzi, is one of the artists invited to perform at the Cheso Power festival in Zimbabwe on July 31. The event was organized by promoter Partson “Chipaz” Chimbodza in collaboration with Macheso’s management. Many Zimbabweans complain about event planners who serve money more than their feelings. This is after there were suggestions that Makhadzi’s invitation to the event should be withdrawn.
This lady contributed to the social networking site Facebook with a poster promoting unity among Africans.

Naryk Bambaus. Makhadzi, don’t worry, people don’t hate you, but because of the current situation, I don’t think that holding an event in Zimbabwe is a good idea. It’s actually not safe; people are angry, trying to heal their pain and find peace. Therefore, holding an event in Zimbabwe is like reminding us of those pains in a painful way. Let the situation calm down first. But you, aren’t you afraid to come to Zimbabwe in this situation?
