The presenter of the program Molemo ‘Jub Jub’ Maarohanye has been arrested. He faces charges of kidnapping, trespassing and firing a firearm in public.
Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said it is suspected that Maarohanye had an argument with the driver of a paid car for the distance traveled in Edenvale.
“It is suspected that at around 07:30 in the morning, the e-hailing driver was taking the woman to Edenvale when he met the suspect, accusing him of having an affair with his girlfriend.”
The suspect is said to have forced the e-hailing driver into his car and prevented him from leaving. When the incident happened, the suspect reportedly pulled out a gun at the driver.
Fortunately, the e-hailing driver was able to escape unharmed and rushed to the nearest police station to report the matter,” said Mathe.
