EXPERIENCED by painful things in life did not stop him from taking care of his body. DJ has been in the gym for two years now.

Prince Kaybee said that losing his mother and being in a car accident are some of the things that he did not allow him to stop taking care of himself, even though it hurt his soul.

Tomorrow he will start a trip from Johannesburg to Durban by bicycle.

He is doing this under the campaign he started HiPace Cycle by Prince Kaybee.

Speaking about this trip, he said that others thought that when he was involved in a motorcycle accident, he would not be able to exercise again, as he had to undergo surgery and other parts of his body were affected and could no longer function properly.

“It was difficult for me to accept that some parts of my body will no longer function normally. Another person would have lost hope and felt that there was nothing he could do. But as someone who used to run long distance races and I also like to exercise, it was difficult when I was told that I can no longer do this well but I finally accepted it. Instead of being depressed about what I lost, I looked for other ways to do what I love and started this new journey in my life,” she said.

He said he got into cycling as one of the ways to heal himself, and at first he was playing but now it has helped him in his mind, he loves it and wants it to bear good fruit.

“I have worked hard in the past months training, I have done this in my body and mind because I don’t want to be confused when I start this journey. I am going public now because I want to encourage many, not to lose hope and use different methods for what they love. I say to people who are injured in different ways who are doing things they love, if something hurts them, don’t give up, but find something else that will encourage them,” he said.

The route he chose, he said he took it because he wanted to see the beauty of the world and is used by many cyclists.

This trip he said will go through eDrakensberg, Oliviershoek Pass, Pietermaritzburg bese egcina eThekwini.
