AMAZULU FC have signed right winger, Mncedi Vandala, who has been linked with the club for some time, which is in the process of strengthening the squad before the start of the 2026/2027 season in August.
Vandala (31) who plays on the right wing, is one of the players who stood out in Magesi FC who were relegated from the Betway Premiership last season. This team from Limpopo was at the bottom of the PSL Promotion Play-Offs. Vandala only signed for MaZulu, he was attacked by different teams in the Premiership including Stellenbosch.
This newspaper reported last week about the pairing of Vandala and Suthu following the good form he showed last season in Magesi where he scored seven goals and created four.
Usuthu recently signed two players, Omega Mdaka from Stellenbosch who plays left back and Keenan Phillips from Lamontville Golden Arrows who plays right back.
Mdaka is one of the players who stood out in Stellies. His joining Usuthu means meeting his former coach, Arthur Zwane, who coached him in the Kaizer Chiefs youth team that played in the DStv Diski Challenge a few seasons ago.
Phillips, who was at the top of the back wall in the Golden Arrows who finished the season in sixth place in the Premiership log last season, is one of the experienced players that this Mbelebeleni team intends to use to strengthen its back wall which was bothering Zwane, by scoring unnecessary goals.
The signing of Vandala to Suthu is no doubt one of the ways to strengthen the forwards in this team that recently let go of two strikers, Thabiso Kutumela and Elmo Kambindu. It turns out that it is in the process of finalizing negotiations with the Kenyan striker, Moses Shumah, from the Zambian team, Power Dynamos.
Usuthu, which finished fourth in the Premiership log last season, is among three KwaZulu-Natal teams including Arrows and Durban City, who will be playing in MTN8 in the inaugural season of 2026/2027.
